Despite his huge season in goals for Chelsea, Edouard Mendy had to admit defeat to Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Lionel messi is not the only player of the PSG to have stocked his trophy cabinet. Like the Argentinian, Gianluigi Donnarumma left the Ballon d’Or ceremony with the Yachine trophy, awarded to the best goalkeeper.

Tenth in the Ballon d’Or standings, the Italian goalkeeper was preferred to Edouard Mendy, yet author of an XXL season with Chelsea. But the coronation of Italy at the Euro weighed more heavily, the former Milanese having a lot in the victory of the Nazionale.
The PSG goalkeeper has also paid tribute to his Senegalese counterpart. “Edouard Mendy is a fantastic goalkeeper. I congratulate him for winning the Champions League. He’s an excellent goalkeeper. I greatly admire. I don’t know what he missed to win this trophy, the decision is not mine. I can only congratulate him for what he has done this season with Chelsea and with his national team ”, he confided.
