“We must fight against mental illnesses”

Joan Laporta, president of FC Barcelona, ​​attended at the TV3 facilities the presentation ceremony of the collaboration of FC Barcelona, ​​RCD Espanyol and Girona FC with La Marató 2021, a charitable project that turns 30 and whose income will be used in this edition to health mental.

Núria Llorach, acting president of the CCMA and the Board of Trustees of the Fundació La Marató de TV3, directed the event, with Joan Laporta, president of Barça; Josep Maria Duran, CEO of Espanyol; and Delfí Geli, president of Girona FC. The aforementioned clubs will give visibility to the La Marató logo on their shirts in the following matches: Barça-Elche (19-D), Espanyol-Levante (12-D) and Girona-Burgos (19-D). Also the women’s teams: Barça-Rayo (19-D), Espanyol-Zaragoza (12-D) and Girona-Jupiter (19-D).

In addition, the clubs have given away a shirt signed by the players and will make a financial contribution.

Laporta He explained that “year after year La Marató is there, we all look forward to it and its work is admirable, raising resources to fight against different diseases and enhancing our society.”

He wanted to emphasize that as a Catalan “it is a source of pride that we have a public television that dedicates work and enthusiasm to those who suffer. And as we have always done, for 30 years, from Barça we are united, we are also very clear that we must fight against the stigma of mental illness ”.

Laporta He added: “Both our players and our players will wear the La Marató logo and for all of them, it will be much more than a match.” The Barça president recalled that the club’s Foundation also has mental health programs and made it available to The Marathon. And he ended up exclaiming that “you are the pride of the country.”
