Beaten in Brest (1-0), AS Saint-Étienne saw a catastrophic first half of the season.
The improvement was short-lived for the Greens. Already beaten by the PSG, Sunday, theAS Saint-Etienne has indeed chained with a 1-0 setback to Brest. A setback which earned Claude Puel’s men to remain stuck in last place in the championship.
After 16 days, the Stéphanois still only have 12 points on the clock, which is the worst total for the Forez club since the 1988-89 season. The Greens were doing even worse with just 11 units.
“We don’t have the right to feel sorry for ourselves or to dwell on it, confided Claude Puel at the end of the meeting. Some can be downcast, some angry. Then we put on the warmer blue and we prepare for the next game. Success must be sought. We went to look for her during badly embarked matches. Today, Saint-Étienne is in its place, that’s how it is. You have to reckon with unforeseen events, bad luck, and the decisions of the referees. It’s part of what we have to face. Above all, we must not suffer and continue to move forward. There is no point in rehashing. ”
