Claude Puel appears to be the worst coach in the history of the Greens.
The slap too many. Sunday, opposed to Rennais Stadium, the’AS Saint-Etienne sank to finally lose 5-0 and thus cash one of his worst defeats to Geoffroy-Guichard. This third defeat in a row was fraught with consequences since in the aftermath, the leaders of Saint-Etienne announced the dismissal of Claude Puel.
The former midfielder therefore leaves the Stéphanois bench after nearly two seasons at the head of the Forez club. And a record to say the least disastrous. In 88 matches on the Stéphanois bench, Claude Puel has only 26 wins, 23 draws and 39 defeats with 98 goals scored for 139 conceded.
In Ligue 1, Claude Puel finished with 1.07 point average per game and 47% defeats (35 out of 75). These are the worst ratios of a Saint Etienne coach. At least for those who have led ASSE at least 50 times.
