The draw conceded by PSG on Saturday in Lens (1-1) only confirmed the difficulties of the capital club.
Three days after a tasteless draw at the Parc des Princes against Nice (0-0), PSG was not more inspired on Saturday against Lens. Despite statistics to their advantage, the Parisians were indeed dominated, struggling to compete with their hosts. Led to the score by the hour of play, Mauricio Pochettino’s men finally preserved the essentials by snatching the equalizer in added time thanks to Georginio Wijnaldum.
With now 13 wins for three draws and one defeat, PSG nonetheless remains firmly established at the top of the League with no less than eleven lengths ahead of its first runner-up. A classification nevertheless in trompe-l’oeil with regard to the performances of the Parisian players since the beginning of the season.
The two draws conceded in a row against Nice and Lens are also worth to PSG a statistic to say the least worrying: the club of the capital has not won any of its four matches played against the other teams of the Top 4. Because before these two snags, the vice-champions of France had conceded their only defeat of the season in Rennes (2-0) and had made a poor draw in Marseille (0-0). In total, the Parisians have therefore won only three points out of the 12 possible and are also the worst team of the Top 5 in their direct confrontations.
