Real Madrid, CD Tenerife and Government of the Canary Islands have presented this Thursday the solidarity match between the legends of the two teams that will take place on December 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López to raise funds for those affected by the eruption in The Palm.
The event took place at the headquarters of the Executive Presidency autonomic in Santa Cruz of Tenerife, with the participation of the general director of Sports, Manuel López, the director of institutional relations of Real Madrid, Emilio Butragueño, and the vice president of CD Tenerife, Milagros Luis Brito.
The event was also attended by former white players Isidoro San José, Roberto Carlos and Iker Casillas, as well as former soccer players Suso Santana, Ricardo León and Juan Manuel Quintero.
Tickets for this match will go on sale at the price of 10 euros from this Friday, and a zero row will also be enabled to raise funds. Emilio Butragueño has sent to the people of La Palma “the love, strength and solidarity” of the Real Madrid, while saying that football is an “extraordinary tool of solidarity” that this time will help to alleviate “in part” the consequences “of these hard times.”

Milagro Luis Brito recalled that CD Tenerife has carried out a series of initiatives to raise funds and help the people of La Palma, while saying that Real Madrid’s proposal to play this match was “full of generosity ”.

We have to make an effort to make La Palma visible and fill the stadium. The general director of Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, Manuel López, has highlighted the “greatness of the two clubs”, while he has stated that “sport could not be absent” to help the citizens of La Palma.
The president of the Cabildo de La Palma, Mariano Hernández Zapata, intervened in the presentation through a videoconference, who has reported that in recent months there has been an “unparalleled outpouring of solidarity from all over the country.”
The island president thanked the celebration of this party, while he reported that the situation of the volcano, which began its eruption more than two months ago and has caused a thousand families to lose their homes, does not allow them “to be optimistic.”
Roberto Carlos has commented that he hopes it will be “a very fun game” and “very special” to be able to help the island of La Palma, while the former Blue and White player Ricardo Leon He thanked Real Madrid for the gesture, which will allow “lending a hand to the Palmeros brothers.”
