Zinedine Zidane’s son avoided Rayo Vallecano a huge snub in the Spanish Cup.
For many in the promotion of Rayo Vallecano last spring, Luca Zidane is having a complicated season. The son of Zinedine Zidane is indeed confined in a role of understudy behind the Macedonian Stole Dimitrievski and his only tenure, during the first day, had ended in an exclusion after only 16 minutes of play. Since then, the tricolor goalkeeper n ‘had never left the sidelines.
The first round of the Spanish Cup, Thursday, was therefore an opportunity for the native of Marseille to find the light. And ultimately to play the heroes. The opposition was however modest since the sixth of Liga faced Guijelo, resident of the fifth division. The meeting had started off perfectly for the Madrid suburbs, who indeed opened the scoring after only five minutes of play thanks to José Angel Pozo, but Guijelo quickly equalized and the Rayo, who finished the match in shorthand, was unable to regain the advantage.
The decision was therefore made on penalties and Luca Zidane avoided real humiliation for Rayo Vallecano by stopping Guijelo’s last attempt, allowing the Madrilenians to advance to the round of 16. A relief for the Franjirrojos.
