Liverpool thus clinched their 2,000th victory in the English Premier League.
Thanks to their success against Newcastle, the Reds have entered the annals of the English league a little more.
Nothing seems to be able to stop Liverpool. Despite several cases of Covid, the Reds have indeed taken advantage of Newcastle’s visit to chain an eighth consecutive victory. Jürgen Klopp’s men had yet been cold-picked from the first minutes of the meeting, but Diego Jota, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold allowed the Anfield residents to finally win 3-1 and thus stay at the Manchester City contact at the top of the standings.
This success against the Magpies is also synonymous with a new record for the Reds. Liverpool have indeed become the first club in history to reach the bar of 2,000 victories in the English Premier League.
