Hans-Joachim Watzke, general manager of Borussia Dortmund, has announced that there is no release clause in Erling Haaland’s case.
In the sights of the biggest European clubs in anticipation of the next summer transfer market, the Norwegian striker sees increasing rumors surrounding his future every week in the world press. Recently, our German colleagues were unanimous in saying that the attacker passed through the RB Salzburg had a release clause of between 75 and 90 million euros which could be activated from next summer.
During the shareholders’ meeting of Borussia Dortmund, Hans-Joachim Watzke provided an update on this issue. ” I cannot confirm a termination clause as such. More than 90% of our contracts with players do not contain a release clause », Said the CEO of the German club.
If no agreement on a release clause has been signed between the two parties, there would, however, exist a gentleman agreement between Erling Haaland and BVB. If one of the Norwegian’s courtiers breaks his piggy bank at the end of the season, the Bundesliga formation will not oppose a departure of the player.
