Chelsea: Tuchel’s ultimatum to Christensen

The defense of Chelsea could change face during the next summer transfer window. Indeed, there are no less than 4 holders (Rüdiger, Thiago Silva, Azpilicueta and Christensen) who will end their contract in June 2022. Antonio Rüdiger should probably leave, the German international (49 caps, 2 goals) is indeed courted by several major European clubs including the Bayern Munich and the real Madrid. César Azpilicueta would be leaving for Barcelona.

Regarding the Dane Andres Christensen, Thomas tuchel spoke at a press conference after the Blues’ victory in Watford (2-1). The club have reportedly offered their 25-year-old defender a 5-year contract, but the latter would prefer a 3-year contract. Consequence, the former player of the Borussia Monchengladbach did not take part in the last two matches with his teammates, before coming back against the Hornets. The London club coach admitted that this sidelining was linked to his refusal to extend.
Thomas Tuchel confirms Andreas Christensen hasn’t featured in the last three #CFC games due to his contract standoff with the club.

“We hope this influences the situation. From what I understand, the player, the club and I all want the same. But I understood that we had to wait a bit before having good news ”, said the former coach of PSG.
The situation could therefore unblock in the coming weeks for the Danish international (54 caps, 1 goal), one less puzzle to manage for the German coach.
