the PSG had a historic evening on Monday. For the first time in its history, a player from the capital club has indeed entered his name on the Ballon d’Or prize list. As foreseen for several days, Lionel messi has succeeded himself, thus winning his seventh Ballon d’Or. But this time, it is to the Parisian supporters that the Argentinian will present his trophy.

And the former Barcelonan will not be alone on the lawn of the Parc des Princes. He will be flanked by Gianluigi Donnarumma, who was indeed awarded the Yachine Trophy for the best goalkeeper. A distinction accompanied by a place in the Top 10 of the Ballon d’Or. Another Parisian player emerges in this Top 10. After being ranked 7th in 2017, 4th in 2018 and 6th in 2019, Kylian Mbappé this time inherits 9th place.

This group shot is historic for French football. PSG is indeed only the second French club to have three players in the Top 10. Paris joins Bordeaux, which had seen Jean Tigana (2nd), Roberto Chalana (5th) and Alain Giresse (9th) truster the places of honor in 1984. And Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Gianluigi Donnarumma are not the only Parisians to be present in the ranking of the Ballon d’Or. The three men are indeed accompanied by Neymar, who had to be content with 16th place.
